Daniel Arthur Solberg Jr., was born on December 16, 1959, in Miami, Florida, to Daniel Arthur Solberg Sr. and Kathleen A. (Neary) Solberg, and spent his early childhood traveling with his father’s naval career. He attended Omaha’s Millard High School before joining the United States Marine Corps. He served at the US Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico, and on the Multinational Force in Beirut, Lebanon. Following his time in the Marine Corps, Dan returned to Omaha where he took a job as a plasterer/drywaller. He made that his career, going on to train a number of drywallers in the Omaha area. He retired from Exterior Construction Services, Inc. in 2022. Dan was a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, continuing into Scout leadership with his son’s pack and troop and the Mid-America Council of the BSA. He had passions for skateboarding, boating/camping, golfing, reading, and family time. Dan was a coach for his daughter’s soccer team, the Blasters. He joined in the family dance hobby, quickly becoming known for his skateboard handstands around the stage, among the other “Dancin’ Dads” of Studio ‘D.’ Dan was an avid Cornhusker football and volleyball fan.
Dan is survived by his wife Jill C. Solberg; his children Kyle Solberg of Ames, IA and Kelsey (Jeff) Packer; his grandchildren Jordan and Kaleigh Packer; his siblings Steve (Annette) Solberg, Donna (Michael Baugh) Solberg, all of Omaha, Deb (late Charles) Evans of Missouri Valley, IA, Kim (Mike) Levesque of Douglasville, GA, and Andrea (Drew) Clemmensen; his stepmother Bernice Solberg, both of Waukee, IA, and by many nieces and nephews.
An informal memorial gathering will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak and Cutler, West Center Chapel. Private family interment at Omaha National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wreaths Across America (https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/) and the Omaha Public Library (https://omahalibrary.org/).

Prayers to the Solberg family. No one knows how many breaths on Earth we were given at birth. It seems Dan made the most of his time and certainly made it a much nicer place to live. If you keep your eyes open, Dan will leave you symbols that he is still around you.
