Daniel E. Torson

Daniel E. Torson
September 12, 1987 – March 27, 2021

We have lost an absolute legend.  Daniel Evert Torson was a beloved resident of both Omaha, Nebraska and Los Angeles, California. His larger than life heart gave out on him in his Los Angeles apartment on March 27, 2021.

He was 33, and is survived and missed by his parents, Bob and Beth Torson; his siblings: Bill (Jacque), John (Rachel), and Annie Torson; his girlfriend, Emily Bolcik; and by his niece and nephew who so loved their Uncle Dan and the worlds of imagination he created with them.

This loss will also be felt by his grandparents, Ron and Lois Roskens and Ruth Torson, and an extended family of aunties, uncles, and cousins that span the country. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Torson.

To try to recognize his friends here, many of whom considered Dan family, would take pages.  His siblings remain confident that he would enjoy the attention, but we simply can’t afford the newsprint.  The joy in Dan’s memory is that those friends already know who they are and exactly how much he loved them.

He was known for his quick wit, unbelievable compassion, and unwillingness to shave a mustache that was never as committed as he was.

To say Dan was a performer and entertainer is a profound understatement. You may have seen him on stage at one of hundreds of improv shows. Perhaps he gave you a tour of LA in an Escalade. If you’re lucky, he may have serenaded you on the street or, to the delight of onlookers, performed a mock Olympic pommel horse routine for you on a nearby bike rack.

An unstoppable comedian until the end, he would want us all to laugh and to know that this obituary would have been funnier if he wrote it.  We did our best, Dan. Love you!

Private services to be held this weekend. Memorials may be made to Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha, a place of peace that Dan enjoyed.

A fabulous guy that will be missed greatly. Every time I was around Dan, there was always laughing – you can’t ask for anything more than that in a person. To the Torson family, thinking about you; hope you find peace in what Dan offered to everyone while he was with us.

Beth and Bob and The Entire Torson Family,

Love sent your way as we all have such great memories of Dan. He was a true Swanson Super Star! He had a real gift and put a smile on the face of everyone he encountered. Our thoughts and pryers are with you and your family during this time of loss.
