Daniel J. McGargill
December 6, 1967 – January 23, 2024
Dan passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home.
Dan was preceded in death by parents, Jude and Mary (Betty) McGargill. He is survived by his son, Daniel J. McGargill, Jr. (Crystel Owen); stepson, Nick Moore; siblings, Mary Ruzicka (John), Kathy Lustgarten (Michael), Maureen Schulte (Mark), Thomas McGargill (JoAnn), Carrie Schuyler (Robert), Vikki Bosley and stepmother, Barb McGargill.
Dan dearly loved his family and hung out with them every chance he could. He had an amazing group of friends whom he also enjoyed spending time with (from grade school to present).
Dan loved and adored his sons, DJ and Nick! He loved spending time with them! They would go to lunch, dinner, go play keno among other activities. No matter what they did he loved their time together!
His passion for cooking and grilling was his crazy. He would call and give you every detail of how he prepared the meal and how delicious it was. He got a lot of his ideas from the cooking channel! His favorite was the Glade De Laurentiis; the little Italian gal!
He enjoyed sports, boating and being outside. He also enjoyed movies and would often quote the actors; Forrest Gump “Life is like a box of Chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get”.
He loved to laugh, crack jokes and play practical jokes on everyone! That was his true talent.
He will always be loved and missed dearly!! C’MONNNNNN!
Family will receive friends Monday, January 29th, from 5-7PM at West Center Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7PM.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, January 30th, 10:30AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church

Truly sorry for the loss of Danny. My family will have your family in our thoughts.
I will Miss you! You will always be my kind friend who was always there for me. If someone ever found out what we did they would bust out laughing with us. I can’t be for your funeral because of my health status but I have you and your family in my prayers. Say hi to Jude and your mom, I’ll see you when I get there. Till then May our creator embrace you in ever lasting love. With my tears I say goodbye, Dan.
Please accept my condolences.
So sorry for your loss – condolences to the entire family.
Deepest condolences and prayers for you and your family.
NO, I did not marry Steve. I did marry his older brother, John.
I am very sorry that I missed the notices of DAN‘s death. I know the family misses him terribly, and I offer my prayers for the repose of his soul, and that he be welcomed in heaven, with open arms by Saint Peter to meet his dad and mom.
