Darrell Gordon Pullen

February 21, 1933- May 7, 2025

Darrell Gordon Pullen, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Born in Oakland, Iowa, Darrell lived a full and meaningful life rooted in love, service, and community. He spent the majority of his life in Omaha with his beloved wife of 68 years, Linda Pullen.

Darrell proudly served his country in the Korean War. A gifted athlete, he was signed by the New York Yankees right out of high school and later played football at Northwest Missouri State. He worked for 33 years at the Metropolitan Utilities District, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and built lifelong friendships.

A proud member of Masonic Lodge 326 and a Shriner, Darrell exemplified integrity and generosity. He had a passion for baseball, classic cars, and music—but above all, he loved his family. He never met a stranger and was always ready to sit, talk, and share a story or two. His heart of gold touched everyone he met.

Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Starr; stepfather, Jim Starr; grandson, Zachary Bows. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; son, Scott (Liz); daughter, Stacy; granddaughters, Nichole Bliven (Jake) and Carly Schramm; and great-grandson, Reece Bliven.

Darrell’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for those around him will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
