VISITATION: Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., followed by SERVICE at 10:30 a.m. at West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd.

Interment, Calvary Cemetery, 7710 W. Center Rd.

Daryl Vincent Baker passed away on December 22, 2023, at UNMC at the age of 73.  He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the third of five boys, to Richard and Mildred (Krejci) Baker.

Daryl spent most of his life in Omaha.  He attended grade school at Our lady of Lourdes and graduated high school from South High.

Daryl had various jobs throughout his life, some of which included Safeway, St John’s Roman Catholic Church, and he finished his work career with 35 years in Facilities at Creighton University.

On October 29, 1987, Daryl married Linda Dobrovolny in Fremont, Nebraska.

Daryl and Linda shared an enjoyment of traveling on day bus trips around Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas.  They attended many local Christian concerts around the Omaha area.  Daryl had a great interest in cars.  They were members of the Midwest Antique Car Club and the Chevrolet Nomad Association.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Holly Ohlinger (fiancé Redd Blakeney, Sr.); granddaughter, McKenzie Ohlinger; brothers, Ron (Karen), Norm (Mary), and Bob (Julie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daryl was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Mildred, and brother, Kent.

Services will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at West Center Chapel. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with Funeral Service at 10:30 am. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery.  A luncheon will be served at the mortuary immediately following the burial.

Pallbearers are nephews, Michael Baker, Andy Baker, James Baker, Matthew Baker, Stephen Baker and dear friend, Joe McCoy.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to the family.

    Very sorry to hear about Daryl’s passing. Daryl was a good man. May he rest in peace.

    I met Daryl around 2012..”The Bohemian ” knew his classic cars…and with his quick wit and fast talk he made sure you were listening…My Brother in Christ I will see You Again…
