David Collins Kuehl
February 9, 1948 – June 12, 2025
David was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was spending time with his wife Ruth, his children, grandchildren and extended family. He loved everyone wholeheartedly and always sought ways to help and support those around him.
A St. Pius (1962), Creighton Prep (1966) and Creighton University(1971) graduate, David built a career in public finance in Omaha starting in 1974. David was the co-founder of Kuehl Capital Corporation in 1994. His leadership helped finance numerous real estate developments throughout Omaha and the surrounding area.
David, one of eight brothers, had a lifelong passion for the outdoors with his favorite hobbies including hunting and fishing. He shared this love and passion with his children with time spent in Okoboji, Legacy Ranch (Cairo, NE), and the many Canadian fishing trips. During his retirement he enjoyed drinks and dinners with Ruth and friends, weekend hunting trips with his brothers, and chasing around his grandchildren. His kindness, dedication and unwavering generosity will live through his family and all who know him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Joan; brothers, Thomas and Kevin; nephew, Michael; sister- in- law, Debbie; in- laws Bob and Frances Wear; brothers- in- law, Gene Cammarota and Terry Wear, and Susie Rensch. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Andy (Keri), Megan (Patrick Hughes), Brian (Lisa), and Christian (Becca); and grandchildren: Connor, Evan, Ellie Kuehl, Rhyan,Sean, Molly Hughes, Carson,Quinn, Kade, Collins Kuehl, Emilia, and Autumn Kuehl
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Christ the King Educational Trust, Creighton University Athletics, Creighton Prep, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
VIGIL: Monday June 16, 2025 , 7:00PM with VISITATION beginning at 5:00PM at West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, June 17, at 10:00AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 S. 86th St., Omaha.
INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery
