David Carl Doll, age 86, died in Omaha, Nebraska on January 2, 2025.

He was a retired country banker who lived most of his years in Grant, Wauneta, and Ogallala, Nebraska. He and his wife Darlene moved to Omaha in 2021 after retiring in Fort Myers, Florida 20 years earlier.

He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 6, 1938, to Edward H. Doll and Margaret C. (Staton) Doll. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast HS and later married Darlene G. Kulla, on February 13, 1959.

Dave spent nearly forty years in banking, forming a multi-bank holding company and founding the Ogallala National Bank. He was an Army veteran and graduated from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking. Dave’s hobbies included Tarpon fishing, flying, golf, sailing and enjoying the grandkids.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers Edward and James; and his son, Kelly.

Dave is survived by his wife of 66 years, Darlene; their daughters Terri Mershon and Christine (Barney) Cotton; grandchildren Timothy Scott Mershon, Stephanie Doll, Benjamin (Taylor) Cotton, Jacob (Catherine) Cotton and Samuel Cotton; great-granddaughter Alice Cotton; 9 nephews and 3 nieces.
