David Joseph Breci

May 31, 2022

David Joseph Breci, age 72, passed away on May 31, 2022, in Izmir, Turkey.  Dave had been on his dream vacation of a Mediterranean Cruise with his wife, Deb, and his brother, Tom.  H had visited Rome, Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece when he became ill with Covid.  Deb also came down with Covid and they were confined together for ten days of quarantine.  Near the end of his quarantine, Dave’s condition worsened, and he had to be moved to a hospital in Izmir, Turkey.

One of Dave’s favorite pastimes was attending the various football, baseball, and softball games of his grandchildren.  He was also an avid follower of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, whether it was the football, volleyball, or baseball team.  He had an impressive collection of Cornhusker memorabilia.  He was also a Kansas City fan of both the Chiefs and the Royals.

One of Dave’s greatest enjoyments came from traveling in his RV.  One of his favorite places was the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and one of his greatest pleasures was visiting his brother in North Carolina.  He and Deb also made several trips to South Dakota, and in 2020 they were able to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Breci.  He is survived by his wife, Debra Kawa-Breci; his children: David Breci, Becky Kyle (Mike), and Kim Fisher (Mike); grandchildren: Jacob, Madison, Ryder, and Kaitlyn; siblings: Tom Breci, Jonella Scavio (Steve), May Allen (Steve), and Cindy Pallas (Mike); many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Deb, I am so sorry for your great loss. I met Dave only a couple of times, but it was easy to see that you two loved each other very much. Prayers for your peace and comfort and for Dave’s family, too,
