David Lee Warren

David Lee Warren

February 18, 1970 – February 18, 2025

Dave Warren passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Josie Harper Hospice House on February 18th, 2025, at the age of 55 after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Dave was a dearly loved spouse, father, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor to many.

From an early age, Dave worked in the food service industry waiting tables, bartending, and managing restaurants. His love and dedication for the industry would be the foundation for his transition into food sales, where he formed many of his life-long friendships. He was known for an amazing attitude, steadfast loyalty, and infectious sense of humor in his personal and work life, with a fierce insistence to do the right thing.

He battled his cancer with unwavering courage, never letting it define him or diminish his love for life, fighting his battle with dignity and grace. Through sickness and in health, Dave was a light and joy to all.

Dave’s greatest source of pride was his family. His marriage to Jacqui spanned 27 years, filled with laughter and unwavering support. He was immensely proud of his children and was their biggest fan, encouraging and celebrating their accomplishments.

He emphasized the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of pursing passions. Dave was a man of deep faith and we can be assured that he was greeted at the gates of heaven on his birthday by all of the dogs he loved and a lake full of fish that got away.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jacqui Warren; children, Hannah and Joseph; siblings: Stef (Bob) Carlyle, Mark (Connie) Warren, Mike (Laura) Warren, and Matt (Jennie) Warren.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Bonnie Warren; grandparents; and his dear aunt, Suzie.

I was so very blessed to get to know Dave over the years. I recently went through Cancer Treatment at the Buffet Cancer Center in Omaha, where Dave and I were able to hang out together and talk. His Daughter Hannah was my Nurse one night during my treatment. What a wonderful Family. Dave will certainly be missed by his many friends, but I know in my heart that I will see him again. Until then, I will pray for all Family and friends.

Jaqui, Hannah and Joe..I am so sorry for your loss. I loved having your family as neighbors, and your dad was a big reason. He was funny, he was engaging to talk to. He was helpful in many ways. He was entertaining. You always knew, David was in the house by his laugh. I was golfing at Shoreline and I was on one hole and I heard this laugh and a whoop,…I knew he was on the course somewhere! I later saw him in the clubhouse and found him, bragging about how close he got to the green..he’d been having a bad day on the course and this was one of his best shots. Gosh, Dave will be missed. Lookout, Heaven–I’ll bet he let out one of his loudest WHOOPS.!!!

Great man, neighbor, friend to all of us on Patrick Ave. We started with the family from day one. Was excited for the pregnancy and birth of Hannah and Joe. Wonderful family.
Loved our Husker games in front of a fire pit at Sharon and Vickie’s. Best of times ; when neighborhoods involved neighbors.
Love all the Warrens. Dave say hi to Bob, Phil, ReNae, and John. Rest now in peace.

The room got brighter when Dave Warren entered it. He had the “it “ factor, at the end of the day or night, every one gravitated to Dave.
    RIP

Dave was one of a kind so fun to work with and a great friend my thoughts and prayers to Jacqui and all of his family.

  • Brian & Carol Fish Posted February 26, 2025 11:30 am

We were so lucky to know Dave – he and Jacqui, Joe and Hannah were easily the best next door neighbors we would ever have. The number one regret in leaving 127th Street was not having the Warrens in our daily lives. Dave’s cheerful demeanor and friendly smile was a constant, even when our trees dropped branches and leaves in his yard 12 months out of the year. The porch pirates never got away with anything with Dave on the lookout. And who could ever forget the fun we had lighting fireworks? (OK, so the exploding watermelon that showered the revelers in juice may not have been entirely legal.) We will remember how Dave (and Joe!) ensured that our driveway and sidewalk were cleared of snow, especially when Brian was away traveling for UP. Such kindness demonstrated and reinforced that Dave was a blessing in every life he touched.

We are grateful to have spent 13 years living next to Dave and Jacqui and will forever cherish our memories as their neighbors.

Very sad to hear the passing of Dave. He was a wonderful inspiration to everybody he came in contact with! A Top Notch salesman and I enjoyed my time working with him at Sysco.
    Rest in Peace my friend…
