David “Dave” Mathew Chevalier was called to Heaven on December 13, 2021. His daughters, sister, and mother were surrounding him in his final moments.
Dave was born in Trinidad, West Indies on April 18, 1955, while his father, John, was serving in the Navy. He attended school as a child throughout Iowa and Nebraska. Dave graduated from Millard South High School and went on to attend the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. In 1977 he graduated with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After graduating, Dave moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to begin his career. After seven years he returned to Omaha, Nebraska, where he started his family and continued to work in the insurance industry for over 40 years.
Dave was diagnosed in February 2021 with Liposarcoma which he battled courageously until his death.
Dave was easy-going, hard-working, witty, and kind to everyone. He was a loving father, grandfather “Papa”, son, brother, and great friend to many. He loved spending time with family and golfing with his friends any chance he could.

It is truly sad to hear of Dave’s passing. Although our days in college together have been long gone, the memories and friendship have remained. May Perpetual Light Shine on him.
My deepest sympathy goes to the Chevalier family. Dave will always have a special place in my heart and I know he will be missed.
I was very sorry to read of Dave’s passing. I was in the Mary Our Queen Golf League with Dave since 1982, and he was always a gentleman on the course. Next season will not be the same without him. Rest in peace friend.
My condolences to the family. Though I never met with you, Dave was a very proud father. I worked with Dave starting in 1991. I was impressed by is professionalism and ethics with clients and coworkers. Dave will be missed by many as well as me.

Dave and I started working together at Wausau in 1988 when I began my career. Dave was the “ultimate” sales guy and always proud of his cars and clients. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and the sudden diagnosis of cancer.

Dave, so sorry you left us. I pray you are dancing with the angels.
Today I was searching for Dave’s latest contact info and was shocked when his obituary popped up. I knew Dave for many years as our Wausau Insurance agent here at Midlands Packaging Corporation in Lincoln. He was always professional, very knowledgeable, friendly and witty. I considered him not only a business associate but also a friend. It saddens me to hear of his diagnosis and passing, My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. I’m sorry that I didn’t know about his passing at the time so I could pay my respects.
RIP Dave. I will think of you each December 13th as I celebrate my birthday.
