David Michael Reckinger

David Michael Reckinger

August 2, 1975 – February 14, 2019

David M. Reckinger of Council Bluffs, IA, formerly of Omaha, died on Feb. 14, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn.  He is survived by his parents, Thomas Reckinger and Bea Terry; siblings: Sandy, Ida Marie, Caroljean, Steven, Randy, and Paul; children: Jessica, Dawson, Alyssa, and Vivian; two grandchildren, Madison and Ember.

David worked in construction most of his life, was a hard worker and perfectionistic by nature. He loved all living creatures from reptiles to rodents to fish, birds and dogs. He also loved plants, trees, rocks and nature in general. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, bonfires. He was a music lover and DJ’d for many years. His favorite song was Limelight by Rush. But David’s number one love, by far, was his children, “My Jessica”, “My Dawson”, “My Little Butt” for Alyssa and “My Doodle Bug”, for his youngest daughter, Vivian. He had a beautiful smile, loved to laugh and tell stories. His family and friends will miss him greatly and are happy he will be met with an eternity of peace and joy.”

The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 25th from 12noon to 1pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by SERVICES at 1pm.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.

I’m so sorry to hear of this. I remember David as a sweet, young child.
Can’t imagine his life has so tragically come to an end.
