Crossan, David Peter Jan 28, 1922 Aug 10, 2013 Age 91. Passed peacefully at home in Omaha, surrounded by his loving family, after battling COPD for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lucille; sister, Connie Kueber; daughters: Pamela Seaton (Rick), Vicki Smith (Tad), Cynthia Parks (George), and Anita Crossan; son, Brian Crossan (Colleen Clark); grandchildren: Andrea Seaton, Jill Ford (Gabe), Erica Smith, Stephanie Gade (Chris), Matthew Parks, Leah Parks, Cory, Nicholas and Luke Vanderheiden; great-grandchildren: Daria Seaton, Makenzie and Ethan Ford. Born and raised in Amherst, South Dakota to Lawrence and Eunice (Shepard) Crossan, David was the oldest son of 11 children. He served in the U.S. Army from July 31, 1942 to December 13, 1945 and was awarded 4 bronze stars, a World War II Victory Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal for his time in the Philippines. Returning to Omaha, David enrolled in Creighton University and obtained a degree in Accounting. He then worked for 30 years as an auditor for the IRS. David loved gardening, and he and Lucille even won prizes in the Rose Society for their lovely roses. He also loved spending much of his time searching for treasures at thrift stores and flea markets. David was above all an honest, hardworking man who was an inspiration to his entire family. A loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, David will be greatly missed. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Thursday, August 15 at 11am at Hillcrest Cemetery, 5701 Center St., with military rites by Benson VFW Post 2503. A gathering of family and friends will follow from 12noon to 3pm in the Great Room at Immanuel Assisted Living, 6801 N. 67th Plaza.
