Debora Jean (Meehan) Nano
January 11, 1954- November 12, 2023
These days time seems to just move faster and faster than before, but suddenly, this week it seems to have slowed to a crawl. We know it’s just for a short time. It’s like the world is giving us just a moment to think… to feel… to reflect. God has called another angel home. So for now, we reflect upon the life of Deborah Nano. She lived a full, long life, but it still seems all too brief. She was a strong willed, compassionate and devoted woman that loved her family and only child, Christopher Nano, deeply. She devoted 26 years of her life, working side by side with her mom, who she always spoke of very highly, at Clarkson Hospital. She gave another 7 years of her life working at Brownell Talbot School. Deb had a love for her dogs and animals alike that was truly indescribable. It was not often that she would let a smile or laugh slip out. She always had a serious look on her face. She wore sunglasses ALL of the time, even indoors. She referred to them as her “hater shades,” but her granddaughters thought they made her look super stylish. Deb mostly kept to herself and would busy her hands with paints, arts, and crafts. She used to make the most beautiful wreaths for the holidays. She enjoyed the company of her family and playing games with her grandkids.
The latter years of Deb’s life were full of ups and downs with her health. She was blessed to be able to stay at home surrounded by her family and caregivers for the most part until her ultimate call home by God on November 12, 2023, when she passed peacefully. We are thankful to have had so many years with her, but the grief and hurt of missing her runs very deep in our hearts and souls right now as we grieve and process the loss. She has left us with a lifetime full of memories and is greatly missed by so many. She is at peace with her mother, Shirley; and grandchild, Cooper. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, Christopher (Misty); grandchildren: Zyla Nano, Marquise Stuck, Sicily Nano, Christina Nano, and Avery Nano.
