Deborah Kay Snyder

Deborah Kay Snyder

May 25, 1952 – February 7, 2019

God recalled an angel when Deborah Kay (Scoville) Snyder passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019.  Debbie was born on May 25, 1952 in Meade, Kansas to John and Jean (Liston) Scoville, who predeceased her.  She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Scoville) Feldmann and brother-in-law John; nieces and nephews,
Audrey Eusey, (with 3 grandnieces and grandnephews), Brad Feldmann, and Clayton Feldmann; many cousins across the country and many dear friends from work and the Omaha area.

Debbie lived in two small towns in Texas but grew up primarily in Lyons, Kansas where she was involved in her church’s Youth Group and Rainbow Girls.  She earned a teaching degree from Emporia State University and taught elementary grades in north central Kansas and south central Nebraska.  In the late ‘70s she moved to Omaha and proudly worked at Nebraska Furniture Mart and spent nearly 18 years at the Raddison Hotel Group, where she loved working.

While bowling in an NFM league she met Robert G. Snyder and they were married in 1984. Deb and Bob loved to travel and dote on their nieces and nephews. Bob predeceased her in 2015.

Deb loved teaching children. She enjoyed football especially the Cornhuskers, spotting wildlife while traveling, cat and dogs—most important, her beloved Morkie Sophie Marie.
And while challenged with medical conditions her entire life, she never gave up or complained. Special love and thanks to cousins Lori Kuhlmann and Lisa and Mike McCarty; dear friends, John and Laverda Bascom and Steve and Lu Woodrich for their love and support.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 11th, from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel.  FUNERAL:  Tuesday, February 12th, at 11am at the West Center Chapel.  Debbie
suggested memorial donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of America, the American Cancer Society, or an animal rescue shelter of your choice.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Deb for the past several years. She had the kindest eyes and was almost always smiling. Our quick breakroom chats always left me with joy in my heart. You will be missed, Deb. You were a truly beautiful human being.
