Delmar Peetz was born October 8, 1928, to Henry and Rose Peetz in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Del attended school in Elkhorn until joining the US Navy in 1945. After his discharge from the Navy, Delmar married Carol Schwaninger on June 4, 1949. Delmar and Carol raised their three children, Terry, Janet, and Larry in Omaha. They enjoyed attending the kid’s ball games, going to the horse races at Aksarben, and traveling after their retirement.
Delmar was preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 53 years daughter Janet Drieling; daughter-in-laws Lynn Peetz and Sara Peetz; brothers: Marvin, Bill, and Leonard Peetz; sisters: Eleanor Kuhl, Arlene Logeman, Marie Rieck, and Henrietta Kuhl.
He is survived by his sons: Terry, Larry (Diane) Peetz, and son-in-law John Drieling; grandchildren: Codi (Phil) Oberg, Megan (Bobby) Brown, DJ (Carmen) Dreiling, Ryan (Stephanie) Peetz, Kayla (Mike) Sprigler, Tommy (Anne) Peetz, Caroline Peetz, and Meredith Peetz; great-grandchildren: Anthony Oberg, Brantley Oberg, Misty Drieling, Layla Drieling, Louisa Sprigler, Theodore Sprigler, and Evelyn Peetz.
