Denis E. Stueve, age 64, of Modale, Iowa passed away August 3, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Denis was born August 10, 1947 in Estherville, Iowa to Clifford (Swede) and Eunice (Adams) Stueve. He started grade school in Northern Iowa around 1954. His parents moved their family back to Logan, Iowa where he finished grade school in a little country school south of Logan, Iowa. He went to high school at Logan. There he met his high school sweetheart, Janice Straight. They were united in marriage October 5, 1963 at the Lutheran Church in Logan. To this union there were four children: Annette, Lonnie, Tony, and Brian. Denis served a short time in the US Army in Missouri. Denis started his trucking business and ran it for 15 years. He sold his business in 2011 due to his health. He also started up the 4 Rivers Riding Club which he was president of. He held many poker runs to help families in Harrison County and St. Jude Childrens Hospital as he always wanted to help kids. This had to be dissolved due to his health. Denis was on the City Council and was Mayor pro temp for 2 years for the city of Modale. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. He also loved to reminisce with family and friends about good times. He was crazy about his grandkids. Survivors include: wife Janice of Modale, Iowa; sons: Lonnie of Nevada, Missouri; Tony and wife Kerry of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Brian of Modale, Iowa; sisters: Mary and husband Carl (Coke) Scott Sr. of Modale, Iowa, Betty and husband Clifford Totten, Pat Mickey, and Julie and husband Dan Brown; brother: Randy; and sister-in-law: Linda Stueve all of Missouri Valley; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren which to all he was known as Pa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by: daughter Annette; parents: Clifford (Swede) and Eunice Stueve; and brother: Lyle Stueve. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. In Loving Memory of Denis E.
