Dennis E. Zarp

Dennis E. Zarp

January 24, 1947 – February 16, 2025

Dennis Zarp passed away peacefully on February 16 at the age of 78. Born on January 24, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, Dennis was the cherished son of John and June Zarp.

Dennis graduated from North High School and shortly thereafter answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Navy. He served his country with honor aboard the USS Kittiwake ASR-13, a tenure that left him 100% disabled but never diminished his spirit or dedication to his country.

Following his military service, Dennis enjoyed a distinguished 20-year career at Prudential, where he dedicated himself to serving those who served our country by selling life insurance to military personnel. His commitment to excellence and genuine care for his clients earned him numerous awards and recognition as a top performer and member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Dennis’s professionalism, integrity, and dedication to his work left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the countless military families he assisted throughout his career.

Dennis‘s love for his family was boundless, and he took immense pride in his roles as a husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He found joy in spending time with his family, whether it was enjoying a meal out together, embarking on memorable family vacations, or indulging in a bit of mischief by sneaking into a second movie at the theater. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, hunting, eating at Cascio’s, and collecting trinkets of all kinds. Most of all, he treasured the moments spent at home, surrounded by the laughter and love of his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah; his loving children: Michael, Karen (Dan), Jason (Sandi), and Brian, and his adored grandchildren: Peyton, Taylor, Cohen, Sawyer, Lucy, Danny, and Brittany. He also leaves behind his dear sibling, John Zarp; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Dennis’s life was a testament to the power of love, sacrifice, and perseverance. He faced life’s challenges with a steadfast heart and an unyielding spirit, inspiring all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, bravery, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Rest in peace, Dennis, Dad, and Papa……your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved more than life itself.

Dennis was a shipmate and good friend of mine for over 55 years. When I heard the song “In the Summer time” by Mungo Jerry, I always thought of Dennis as that was one of our favorite songs when we were stationed together in London, England. As a friend Dennis always looked out for us. My deepest condolences go out to his entire family, He truly loved each and every one of you. I will miss you. Rest In Peace my friend.

Kate and I became clients of Denny in 1976. We became fast friends and Denny became my mentor when I became a Prudential agent in 1979. Denny & Debbie and my wife Kate and I would have dinner tigether every other month for the past 10 years.
We will miss Denny deeply and know that he is at peace now. God bless him.

Our deepest condolences are with the Zarp family. Befriending Denny and Jason and traveling to the dirt bike races together were great and memorable times that we will not forget. Godspeed and rest in peace, Denny.
