Dennis J. Moynihan
October 23, 1935-June 1, 2025
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”
Dennis J. Moynihan entered eternal life on June 1, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, with his family lovingly at his side. He was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey to James and Mary (Bolger) Moynihan. He attended schools in Newark and Bloomfield and was always proud to be “just a kid from Newark.” At the age of 18 he entered the Air Force. After an honorable discharge and service in the Reserves he married the love of his life, Peggy, whom he cherished for 64 years.
Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Uncle, and Child of GOD. He was the last of 10 siblings to depart from this world and is survived by his beloved wife; Peggy, 3 children and their spouses whom he loved as his children: Dennis and Janeen, Mark and Griselda, Maria and Robert (Cody) ; 14 beloved grandchildren; and 8 beloved great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.
For most of his working life, he was employed as a foreman with Heat and Frost Insulators & Allied Workers (Union Local 32, NJ). Once his children were grown, he moved to the Jersey Shore area. There he enjoyed spending time with Peggy, volunteer work at the Southern Ocean County Hospital ”SOCH”, and St. Mary of the Pines, Manahawkin, N.J.
He loved GOD, prayer, his family, people, music, reading, poetry, aviation, and of course the NY Giants. Dennis will be remembered as a devout Catholic, great conversationalist, having a keen sense of humor, always putting the needs of others first, and a smile that could comfort any soul.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
