Diana Lynn (John) Cotten

Age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, May 17, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska after a courageous battle with cancer.

Diana was born on July 5, 1961 in The Dalles, Oregon to Sam and Dorothy. She spent most of her life in Omaha, NE as a social butterfly, who wore her heart on her sleeve, carried the weight of loved ones burdens, and shared in family and friends joy.  Diana celebrated her heritage as a member of the American Italian Heritage Society gaining countless friendships that she cherished deeply.  Volunteering was her passion as she sensed those in need.  Diana enjoyed good food, nature walks, long drives, listening to music (loudly), swimming, traveling, and spending time with her family.  She loved the joy of the holidays and her home reflected the celebration of every season.  From the excitement of the fireworks in the sky on Independence Day to the variety of Christmas light earrings she wore all December long.  Diana dedicated her life to her three children, Jason, Aaron, Nicole, and all of her grandchildren.  She carried strong faith,  fought a courageous battle against cancer, and now the Lord has brought His angel home.  Diana was adored by many for her bright personality and will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Mortuary, 7805 W Center Road, Omaha, NE  on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm in  honor of her memory and a life that has been loved.   Private Internment: Friday, May 21st.

Diana has always been such a bright and vibrant spirit. Being self-less seemed to be at her core. In talking to people who know her, there is still laughter and joy in her memory which is an amazing testament to who she was. My condolences to her family, and all who shared in loving her. May she have some peanut butter and jelly pizza with friends in a higher place.

I went to school with Michael and Diana at Belle Ryan Elementary. I remember how sweet and outgoing Diana was, as well as her being a real beauty. So sorry to hear of your loss. She will be the brightest star in the sky.

Our prayers are with you all , haven’t seen her in a very long time, have great memories . The kids were young then and our kids did a lot of fun things. Be at peace knowing she is not suffering, she was far to wonderful to be in pain. Sending prayers for you all from Texas.
