Diane Lynn (Cameron) Minnmann

Diane Lynn (Cameron) Minnmann

January 7, 1966 – December 29, 2022

Diane Lynn (Cameron) Minnmann passed away at her home in Omaha, Nebraska on December 29th, 2022, at the age of 56. Diane was born on January 7th, 1966, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to parents Gale and Patricia Cameron. The family moved around from Storm Lake, Iowa, to Mitchell, South Dakota, and eventually settled down in Omaha, Nebraska.

As a kid, Diane spent most of her summers at her grandparents’ farm in Syracuse, Nebraska. She told stories of working during the summers at the farm with her sister Donna Cameron and her brother Steven Cameron. They walked beans, shucked corn, and baled hay together. As Diane got older, her brother Steve and her got closer and shared many of the same friends. They even shared a car during high school, which wasn’t always talked about with the fondest of memories. Diane worked during high school and graduated from Westside in 1984. She held plenty of jobs throughout and after high school.

She worked for Cruise Marketing as a payroll assistant, which is where she met the love of her life Kim Minnmann. In August of 1999, they got married in front of Diane’s parents’ house in Omaha, Nebraska. Diane became a stepmom to two daughters, Taylor and Shelby Minnmann. And less than a year later became a mother to her own son Cameron Minnmann, who was the first Cruise Marketing Baby. Her last job was working for Koester Construction, where she always talked about how she got to build many of the Mcdonald’s in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Cameron loved to brag about this fact as he got letters from Ronald McDonald himself.

When Kim passed away in 2008, Diane decided to move back to Omaha to be closer to her family. She loved spending the summers at Rockbrook pool, getting to make friends and catching up with the people she grew up with. As the years went on, she took the role of caretaker for the family and making sure everyone made it to their appointments on time and took Steve back and forth to the family farm as he was trying to fix up the farmhouse. While being the caretaker may not have been Diane’s life goal it gave her a new purpose in life. It allowed her to build a stronger relationship with her family and serve in a role she never saw herself in.

Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Kim Minnmann; parents, Gale and Patricia Cameron; brother, Steven Cameron.

She is survived by her sister, Donna Cameron; son, Cameron Minnmann; and many cousins and nephews.

Memorial Service: Friday, January 27th, 11AM at West Center Chapel.

    Dear, sweet, Cameron,
I’ll always remember you as the adorable 4 year old that your mother showed off to me when we first met. She loved you with all of her being and was so proud of you. She shared her pride ever single time we spoke over the years. Godspeed to you, young man. Hugs, Aunt Cheli 😊
