Donald Clinton Grow, 84, of Omaha, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Omaha, NE.   Visitation will be held Friday, May 10th at 12:00 noon, with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Mortuaries , 7805 West Center Road, Omaha NE 68124.  The burial will follow at 3:30 p.m., Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138.

Donald was born in Marshall, Minnesota, to Otis and Ethel Grow on January 1, 1940.

He went to school at Marshall High School and  graduated in 1957. He married Lillian “Lolly” Okrina on August 11, 1962, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, Minnesota.    Don served in the United States Army, earning rank of Private E1 from 1962 to 1965, and was deployed to Germany.   After the service, Don returned to the states and worked as a truck driver and warehouse manager for Jordan Millwork in Omaha, Nebraska.    Don and Lolly had two boys, Mark and Jonathan, in 1966 and 1970.

Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, woodworking, and time with his family.  He was an avid volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, den leader and Scout Master of troop 295; and after his retirement, a passionate volunteer at Bergan Mercy Procedure Center, always earning his daily free lunch.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ethel: his brothers, Allen Grow (2014) and Denis Grow (2020); his great-grandson, Connor (2022).

Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lolly; his sons, Mark (Jody), Jonathan (Patty); eight grandchildren: Heather Skudler, Adam Grow, Stephanie Ortmann (Kit), Nick Skudler (Brianna), Julie Grow (Dillon), Kyle Grow, Elizabeth Grow, Matthew Grow; five great-grandchildren: Gracie, Alivia, Chloe, Emma, and Owen.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to: Josie Harper Hospice House, who took wonderful care of Don, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity that Don supported.
