Donald Eugene Pearson

PEARSON, Donald Eugene, Jun 14, 1926 – Nov 1, 2010. Born in Waterloo, IA. During WWII he served honorably in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Idaho. He married Phyllis Petersen on January 1, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. In 1988 he retired from Redfield Brick and Tile Company in Redfield, IA, after which he lived in Adel, IA until moving to Omaha in 2001. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed reading Zane Grey western novels, flying model airplanes and, at every opportunity, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Addie Pearson, and sister Joan. Survived by wife, Phyllis J. Pearson; five children: Wade Pearson and wife Jean, Donna Eldridge, Paula James and husband Dan, Eric Pearson, Andrea Miller and husband Mike; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Tom; sister, Betty. SERVICES Thursday, 11am, St. Michael Lutheran Church, 13232 Blondo. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Friday, 1pm, Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa with full military honors. VISITATION from 3pm Wednesday, with family receiving friends 5pm-7pm at the West Center Chapel. Memorials to Nebraska Heart Association.
