Donald J. “Don” Wilkie

May 1, 1934-February 18, 2025

Donald Jean Wilkie was born May 1, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska.  Passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025.  Preceded in death by his parents, Horace Wilkie and Gertrude Childs Wilkie Kampfe; brother, Warren Wilkie; and loving wife, Patricia Wilkie.  He is survived by children: Bruce Wilkie (Linda), Dawn (Dee Dee) Morar (David), and Bryan Wilkie (Helen); Grandchildren: Justin Morar (Jessica), Robert Wilkie (Mikayla), Brent Wilkie, Ashley Morar, Alyssa Timperley (Jeremy), and Daniel Wilkie; Great- Grandchildren: Da’Nelakhy Morar, Lennon Morar, Allison Timperley, Waylon Wilkie, Blakely Morar, Jeter Timperley, Lynnlee Wilkie, Milo Morar, and Auguste Morar. He leaves behind nieces, Sherry Murphy and Julie Stephens, his Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity brothers; and many dancing friends.

Don was married to his wife Pat for nearly 70 years.  Don loved traveling. He and Pat traveled extensively, marking each trip with a pin on a commemorative map. In high school, Don was active in track and basketball in high school.   Don also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, square dancing, and county line dancing, water and snow skiing, and the casinos.  He served his county in the US Army where he had a tour in Germany and repaired radios and other communication devices.   Don’s first career was as a salesman and Engineer for Metropolitan Utilities District, selling natural gas to area businesses.  He was a proud member of the Master Masons since 1961 and a member of the Tangier Shrine since 2009.  Don obtained his real estate salesman’s license in 1962,joining his uncle in the real estate business.  He later obtained his real estate broker’s license.   In 1977, he and his wife Pat founded their own real estate company.  He sold real estate for many years and later received the designation of Realtor Emeritus.  Don was very active in his church, St. Timothy Lutheran Church as a greeter and usher.

MASONIC SERVICE: Monday, February 24, 2025, 5:00PM with VISITATION from 5:00-7:00PM at West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 10:30AM at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 510 N. 93rd St., Omaha.

INTERMENT:  Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Covert Lodge #11 or The Shriners Hospital for Children.
