I knew Don in the late 80s, early 90s. I remember him as a welcoming, dedicated, and generous man. I am spotty for your personal loss.
Don was an awesome friend from the Beebe and Runyon days! We’ve always kept in touch and just had lunch at Cascio’s after Christmas! He was an awesome support and incredible friend!
When I was a medical student at Creighton in the middle 80s and worked to organize the Nebraska AIDS Project, Don was one of the people I found whio was ahead of the curve, in the community providing volunteer service before there were any structures in place for getting resources to those suffering from the dual impact of the illness and the hysteria and discrimination with which it was met. Don was and remained a hero in our community.
