I served as commander of the Nebraska Wing of the Civil Air Patrol from 1984 to 1989. During that time, I came to know Don as a warm and hard-working guy on whom I could count. I counted her as a valued friend across the years and will miss him greatly. He was truly a good man.

Don and I and my family have been friends for over 50 years. He became an integral part of our lives and we greatly benefited from his presents. My two daughters considered him one of their adopted uncles who cared for them as he did his own family. He was a dedicated and long time member of Civil Air Patrol ( since 1956) and provide countless hours of volunteer assistance to that organization in addition to his service in the U.S.A.F. and Nebraska Air National Guard. He will be greatly missed and he truly did leave this world as a better place for his being here. Thank You Col. Palmer.
