ROLLAG, Donavon E. Jan 26, 1932 Oct 30, 2014 Donavon Eldon Rollag, age 82 of Springfield, MO formerly of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Omaha, NE. Don was born on January 26, 1932 to Orville and Rose (Sanderson) Rollag. Don graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1950. He received his degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1953. Don served in the Army from 1953-1955. After his discharge, he began working for Northwestern Bell (AT&T) in 1955. He retired from AT&T in 1989. Don was preceded in death by parents and second wife Catherine (Starr) Rollag. He is survived by sons, Mark (Jane) and John (Ann); grandchildren, Jessica (Joe), Blake (Bethany), Brandon (Natsuka), Emily, Megan, Nathan, Garret, Sarah, and Daniel; and twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Dwayne (Helen) and David sisters Doris (Dan), Darlene, Sharon, Rhea (Jack); nieces, nephews and other extended family members. VISITATION will be Wednesday, November 5th from 4pm to 8pm, with family receiving friends 6pm to 8pm, all at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. FUNERAL SERVICE Thursday, November 6th at 10:30am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, with Rev. Dan Kordahl officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
