Donna Jean Hatcher, age, 82 of Canon City, Colorado formerly of Woodbine, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Progressive Care Center in Canyon City, Colorado. Donna was born August 22, 1931 to Arthur R. and Strausie (Pike) Hatcher in Omaha, Nebraska. Donna married Robert H. Shannon September 19, 1993 in Gainesville, Texas. Robert passed away on May 2, 1995. She graduated from Woodbine High School in Woodbine, Iowa. Donna was a Communication Center Specialist for the USAF for twenty years and retired in November 1979. She lived in Scott AFB, Illinois, Hamilton AFB, California, ENT AB, Colorado, RAF Chicksards, England, Shu Lin Kou, Taiwan (ROC), Offutt AFB, and Omaha, Nebraska. Donna was a lifelong member of AFSA, VFW, American Legion Post 179, TREA, DAV, and Freedom through Vigilance Association. After retiring from the Military she delivered mail in the area where she lived, Donna enjoyed traveling. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister in law; Diane. Survivors include her nieces and nephews; brothers: I. David Hatcher of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Melvin A. Hatcher and wife Ruthie of Omaha, Nebraska; sister: Margery A. Baldwin and husband Henry of Omaha, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
