Donna Rae Cameron

Donna Rae Cameron

Donna Rae Cameron passed away peacefully on Jan 11th, 2023, after a second battle with cancer. Every day Donna was on this earth, she made it a better place.

Donna had many interests. She loved Elvis, puzzles, going for walks in the neighborhood, visiting with neighbors, playing slots at the casino (especially with Pat), hallmark movies, swimming at the pool, and spending time with her family.

Donna was diagnosed with a learning disability as a young child, but throughout her life, those who came to know Donna envied her. This is because Donna had tremendous character; she was kind, honest, hard-working, and incredibly resilient. She epitomized Cameron Family values. She is the model we strive for and hope to imprint on our children.

Donna was very successful in everything she did. She graduated with her peers from Westside high school in 1980. Donna was an outstanding swimmer. She regularly swam in the Special Olympics and won medals in 1978. She was awarded her medal at the National Special Olympics by Muhammed Ali. She spent many years working for Baker’s Grocery and retired in 2015 in good health, leaving her many years to spend her time doing the things she loved.

We all wish we had more time with Donna. She left this world too soon. But do not be sad; Donna is now with Him and the rest of the family. She was an angel on earth, and now she has her wings.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Gale and Patricia Cameron; brother Steven Cameron; and sister, Diane (Cameron) Minnmann; and she is survived by a large family who love and miss her dearly.

Memorial Service: Friday, January 27th, 11AM at West Center Chapel.
