Doris Ann Eversden
November 30, 1940 – April 28, 2025
Doris Ann Eversden was born in Decatur, Indiana on November 30, 1940, to Ralph and Helen Bluhm. She went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Doris attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana where she met the love of her life, Tom, and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school in Toledo, Ohio, Maumee, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska. She was a dedicated teacher and loved teaching young children how to read and to write their own stories.
Doris was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Through numerous health issues over 40 years, her prayer was always to have her life extended so she could pray daily for her children and grandchildren.
Doris was very active. She enjoyed long walks and golfing with her teacher friends. Doris was also an avid reader. Within the last few years, she set out to memorize 100 scripture verses and accomplished this goal.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Bluhm; brother, Carl Bluhm.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Eversden; children: Marsha Eversden Brown, Mark Eversden (Sara), Michael Eversden (Heather); 11 grandchildren: Erik Brown, Lindsey Brown, Todd Brown, Andrew Eversden (Rachel Wertz), Graham Eversden, Brooke Eversden, Madelaine Eversden, Annalese Eversden, Luke Eversden, Harrison Eversden, and William Eversden.
Visitation: Sunday, May 4th from 5-7pm at West Center Chapel
Funeral: Monday, May 5th, 10:30am at Standing Stone Bible Church (321 S. Hwy 6, Gretna, Ne)
Interment: Evergreen.
Memorials are suggested to: Taylor University (Education Department) in Upland, Indiana, or the Open Door Mission in Omaha, Nebraska

Pat ad I are so sad to hear of Doris’ passing. She was always sweet and cheerful. She was a joy to be with. We know you are both very close to the Lord. It is a blessing to know she is in his loving arms now. Please know you are in our prayers. Our hearts are breaking for you.
Tom, I’m sorry for your loss. You and Doris made the world brighter especially in my world.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Erik. I never had the pleasure of meeting your grandmother but I’m sure she was a great woman.
