Doris K. Stratbucker

STRATBUCKER, Doris K., Feb 26, 1942 – Apr 15, 2012. Omaha, NE. Doris loved her family and friends and dedicated her life to their happiness. She lost her short and peaceful battle with melanoma. As a former school teacher, she taught many throughout her life to be creative and led by example, filling many lives with her joy. For over three decades Doris has been the smiling face of the Rockbrook Farmer’s Market and Stratbucker fresh produce markets in the Old Market and Aksarben. She created picture-perfect spaces where she helped countless children pick out the best pumpkin, guaranteed customers the freshest sweet corn, and allowed Omaha families to create permanent Christmas memories while choosing their favorite tree. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Stratbucker; son, Dr. William Stratbucker (Amy) of Grand Rapids, MI; daughters: Heidi Coughlin of Omaha, NE, Amy Ham (Shane) of Andover, KS, and Rebecca Stratbucker (fiancé, Pete Jenkins) of Omaha, NE; her 9 grandchildren: Zella and Brayden Stratbucker, Mackenzie, Max, Jay and Sam Coughlin, and Bethany, Aidan and Andrew Ham; sister, Judy Dichsen; brothers, Donald Marrow and Ronald Marrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Viola Marrow, and her sister, Marilyn Marrow. The family will receive friends Thursday, 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Friday, 1pm, Trinity Lutheran Church, 6340 N. 30 St. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Ponca Elementary School where her children attended, her daughter teaches and grandchildren attend today, and where she for years led school-wide annual fall trips to the Stratbucker pumpkin patch. Doris will always be remembered for her warm heart that she shared with so many.
