Dorothy Carroll Wichman

WICHMAN, Dorothy Carroll Jan 10, 1935 – Sep 15, 2013 After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, Dorothy passed away surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born and raised in Valentine, Nebraska, and graduated from Nebraska School for the Deaf. She was one of four children born to the late Lloyd and Ruth Tate. Dorothy loved tending to her flowers, reading, researching her family tree, laughing and being with her family. Dorothy touched the lives of many people with her smile and maintained her sense of humor all the way to the end. For more than fifty years, Dorothy was the beloved wife of Marvin Wichman. She will forever be remembered by her beloved children: Kathy Mummert, Beverly Dumke (Jim), Janet Harpham (Brian), and Marva Wichman; treasured grandchildren: Joshua Mummert, Allyson and Nick Dumke, Sydney, Ryan and Hope Harpham; devoted siblings: Lucille Veit, Phyllis Ohlmann, and James Tate; caring brothers-in-law, Don Wichman and Bill Veit; and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18th from 4pm to 6pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Thursday, September 19th at 10am at the West Center Chapel. The family requests that all memorials be sent to Bethlehem Deaf Lutheran Church, 5074 Lake Street, Omaha, NE 68124, where Dorothy was a longtime cherished member.
