Dorothy Mae (Placek) Halsey
May 24, 1946 – February 5, 2021
Born in Wahoo, Nebraska on May 24, 1946, and graduated from Technical High School in 1964. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Helen Placek, and her brother, Dennis. She is survived by her husband of more than 53 years, Donald; sons, Brian (Felicia) and Keith (Valorie); daughter, Brenda Davids (Jason); eleven grandchildren (plus one on the way); sister, Patricia Poltack (John), all of Omaha.
Dorothy was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was deeply loved by all who knew her. In her younger years, she looked forward to going dancing with Don at Peony Park almost every Saturday night. She loved spending time with the grandchildren, gardening (especially flowers), baking, making crafts, sewing, making quilts, participating in local craft fairs, and traveling to craft fairs in distant cities. She taught CCD at Mary Our Queen for ten years and was a faithful follower of God, praying the Rosary several times a day.
VISITATION observing CDC guidelines: Wednesday, February 10th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, February 11th at 1pm at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 S. 118th St. Interment: Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Parkinson’s Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or Mary Our Queen Church.

Bob and I want to express our sympathy to all of the Halsey family. May God be with you as you mourn the loss of this wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
