Douglas L. Boyd
April 9, 1957 – August 21, 2020
Douglas Lee Boyd, 63, of Omaha, Nebraska, died August 21, 2020. He was born April 9, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Mabel and Thomas Boyd. He was the second youngest of 5 siblings. On September 16th, 2005, he married Jody Lee Boyd, who survives.
Growing up, Doug went on numerous family vacations to visit family and often reminisced on these memories of visiting his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He attended Omaha South High school where he excelled in swimming and gymnastics. He held several local and state titles, some of which were held for several decades. He also enjoyed Mustang cars and had many throughout his lifetime. One of his greatest enjoyments was hanging with his border collie Angus, who also recently passed away. He had a soft spot for all animals and also had many cats and ferrets in his life. Being a Grandpa and teaching his grandsons about cars and superheroes was another passion of his. This past summer he enjoyed tending to his remodeled garden and picking vegetables and flowers with his wife and daughters.
Preceded in death by father, Thomas Boyd. Survived by wife, Jody; daughters: Shelby Hunke (Jake), Paige Goldsberry, and Joelle Goldsberry (Kevin); grandsons, Miles and Tucker; mother, Mabel Boyd; sisters, Susan Boyd (Craig Lemke) and Sandy O’Malley (Bill); brothers, Bruce Boyd and Bob Boyd (Marla); chihuahua, Nala; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
