Dr. Carol Lee (Schlosser) Langer

October 8, 1949 – March 4, 2025

Dr. Carol Lee (Schlosser) Langer, 75, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Born on October 8, 1949, in Dawson, Nebraska, Carol dedicated her life to education, advocacy, and the pursuit of knowledge. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Peru State College before continuing her studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she obtained a Master of Social Work. Her academic journey culminated in a Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Carol was known for her keen intellect and compassionate spirit. She was insightful and open-minded, always advocating for those in need. Her warmth and wisdom left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carol found joy in the simple wonders of life. She was an avid collector of rocks gathered from her travels and those of her loved ones—a tangible reflection of the connections she cherished. She delighted in observing the backyard wildlife and found solace in nature’s quiet beauty. A voracious reader, she immersed herself in books that expanded her understanding of the world. She also enjoyed crafting, using creativity as another means to express herself and share with others.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; parents, Dean and Lurene; brother, Gary. She is survived by her three sons: Jason and his children, David and Alex; Justin and his wife, Cara with their children, Lauren and Tony; and Jeremy and his bride, Wendy with their children, Kieren and Emmett. Her family was a source of immense pride and love throughout her life.

Carol’s legacy lives on through the knowledge she shared, the kindness she extended, and the family and friends she nurtured. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at West Center Chapel.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
