Dr. Dale Olen Shelton

Dr. Dale Olen Shelton

December 10, 1935 – January 19, 2023

Dale Olen Shelton was born on December 10, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Evelyn and Olen Shelton. He had two brothers, Wayne and Don, and a sister, Delores.
He married his high school sweetheart, Lorrie Jaroscak, on October 23, 1954, and were together for 63 years before her own passing on November 20, 2016. In 1954, Dale joined the US Army and served in the 86th infantry in the Korean War until 1956, when he was honorably discharged and allowed to go home.

Upon his return, Dale was accepted into Northwestern Chiropractic College in 1956. He graduated in 1960 and moved to Dawson, Minnesota, to open up his first practice. All his children were born in Minnesota: Dayle, Pam, David, Jack, and Todd. They lived in Sydney, South Sioux City, and finally, Omaha, where he practiced until 2018. He closed his doors with great regret, as his greatest joy and passion was helping and healing people, often with little to no payment from his less well-off patients. Dale opened his heart and practice to anyone in need.

During his time in Omaha, he became a pillar statesman of the Nebraska Chiropractic Association and President of the Nebraska Kennel Club. One of his lifelong passions was training and showing dogs with his wife, Lorrie. Dale loved his family and his country. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, bowling, karate, and Nebraska football. He loved his last home at Remington Heights, the residents, and the nurses that made his last days good ones.

Dale is survived by his children; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Donald Shelton; sister Delores Delonay; nieces and nephews. He will be loved and dearly missed by all who knew him.

VISITATION: Saturday, January 20th, 1-4pm, at West Center Chapel.
