BENAK, Dr. Joseph V., Ph.D. Apr 29, 1929 Aug 23, 2014 Age 85. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna (Zezulak) Benak; daughter, Margaret Ann Benak; son, Daniel Benak; grandchildren, John Paul Owens, and Mark Daniel Sheehy; and sisters, Delores Koznazrek, and Elaine Graeve. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret (Kleine); daughters, Suzanne Monno (John), Patricia Lawrence (Anthony), Teresa Goodman (Randy), Catherine Dougherty, Barbara Kelley (Jeff), Jeanette Owens (Daniel), Andrea Evans (Joseph), and Amelia Sheehy (Jim); sons, Thomas, Christopher (Lori), and Matthew (Nicole); thirty-five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; brother, Edward; sister, JoAnn Stock; and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION begins Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 5:00 pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7:00 pm, all at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (74 and Vinton St). MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: St. Joan of Arc Parish; Creighton Prep Benak-Brown Scholarship Fund; or American Society of Civil Engineers Peck/Benak Engineering Achievement Scholarship.
