Earleen D. Philmon
April 23, 1937 ~ November 14, 2024
“Lived My Best Life…”
Earleen Debbie Robinson-Philmon, is the daughter of the late Jimmie Louis and Virginia Robinson. Along with her twin sister, Earleen entered this world on April 23, 1937, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She grew up with her two sisters and one brother. She received her formal education from the Wabbaseka School District, and graduated from Wabbaseka High School in Wabbaseka, Arkansas.
She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in her home, with her loved ones right by her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Virginia Robinson; her husband, (High School Sweetheart) of 66 years, Walter S. Philmon; sister, Bettye Joann Robinson and brother, James Willis Robinson; her bonus son, Alphonso Philmon; her grandsons, Derek VaChon Philmon and Veryl Ray Jefferson; and her son-in-law; Bobby Dinkens. Now, as Earleen was welcomed by her Savior, and the family gang, and her friends; this is what is called a true Home Going Celebration!
She received Christ at an early age, and was baptized in at the first church she attended, Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, Earleen married the love of her life, who she was married to for 66 looooong years, Mr. Walter Sorrell Philmon. Their union was blessed with five children and two bonus children.
After graduating and getting married, along with her husband, they ventured out of the South and went Midwest to Omaha, Nebraska. Upon coming to Omaha, Earleen furthered her education and became the bookkeeper for the family business. This allowed her the wonderful privilege of being a stay home mom, which she tremendously enjoyed! It was at that time, she perfected her administrative and cooking skills.
There was not a time that her husband and children didn’t come home to a full course meal, and yes, dessert, with all of her delicious meals.
After moving to Omaha, Earleen united with Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member for over 15 years serving as a Sunday School teacher and an active choir member. On August 9, 1980, she rededicated her life to the Lord at Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Taylor H. Gill, Jr., and was re-baptized, where she remained faithful. She served as a Deaconess, an Usher and the Visitation Ministry.
Earleen loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, as well as with her friends. She was no stranger to traveling in and out of the country (by car, boat or air), cooking, and shopping.
She had a lot of wonderful attributes: some of which include her love for Christ, and always telling others about Him, studying her bible daily, being a loyal friend, dedicated wife, and an amazing mother, grandmother “Nana”, great-grandmother “Gigi”, and many, many more.
She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Dexter R. Philmon (San Francisco, CA), daughters, Edith F. Philmon (Denver, CO), Debbie L. Philmon, Daphne V. Philmon and LaSonja V. Dinkens, all of Omaha, NE, and Rosa M. Philmon (Little Rock, AR); Thirteen awesome grandchildren: Jeremy, Derico, Cameron, Christopher and Dominique, Eric, TaWonda, NuToysha, Brandon, TaVonda, Alicia, Anthony and Mary; in addition to several great-grandchildren; sister, Pearleen P. Turner (Sam); brother-in-law, Calvin T. Philmon, and sisters-in-law; Joyce Warren and Mitsu Davis (James); all of Omaha, NE.

To Edith and family we are praying that God will comfort and give you peace during this time as you grieve the loss of your mother. With much love Nadine and KBC Usher .Ministry. We ❤️ you.
Mommy this is a tough one and the tears won’t stop. I truly was not prepared and don’t know how to go on without you. Get your rest which you diffently earned now you and daddy are together. Not a day nor hour that passes I won’t think of you. Thanks for all the beautiful memories which I will cherish. Always&Forever Yatze your baby💔
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Earleen’s passing. My mom Lil lived across the street and they became fast and good friends. Sadly, I will not be able to attend her funeral as my mom’s last sibling passed away the past week and her funeral is on the exact same day and time.
As a side note, I had lunch with a group of friends on the 14th. On the way home I felt a need to drive by mom’s and Earleen’s homes and remember . Little did I know it was the day of her passing. My heart hurts with yours.
I’d like to think they are now sharing another cup of coffee and many laughs
My condolences to the entire family. I will always remember Mrs P for her sweet smile and spending many days at her home. May God continue to bless and keep you.
I became breathless for a moment when I saw your picture. It just seems like a nightmare is happening right now and I just want to wake up. However, seeing this picture of you made it real and I am going to work on accepting this a little better. I will miss you my Dante, lovely and funny aunt.I’m getting on that Airplane for you …Aunt Earl..

I am so sorry for your loss. Know that the pain. You feel right now will ease day by day. God will continue to be there for you
Family my heart for the loss of a beautiful cousin. Know that I am always praying for you all
I met Earleen when we moved to Pastor the Sharon S.D.A. Church, in 1992 and immediately became friends! Our relationship blossom into, “sisters,” and “Aunt,” to my children! I eventually met her lovely family, and had the pleasure to work with Sonja! Although we moved away in the late 90’s, our relationship continue across the miles! She was committed to Christ, her family, and her church family! A fine example of a true Christian!
She will always hold a special place in my heart! May the Grace of God be with the Family!🙏💕
Aunt Earl (Mama 2), I will treasure all the special moments we had talking on the phone, laughing, praying and the encouraging words you would give me. Auntie, I feel a big void in my life, but I promise to never give up and will always pray when things get rough. Rest well my dear Mama2 💔🕊️💐
No words can express how sorry I am for what you and your family are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
May God continues to keep and strengthen the family. Our prayers are with you and the family.
Thank you for always uplifting me as your niece. I loved our talks about The Lord. Your love, laughter and commitment to our family will always be cherished. I will miss you saying “oh Nessa, you know your uncle is around here!” I will see you again because I know you are with THE KING of KINGS!
To the Philmon Family:

Love you
Praying for God’s comfort for all of us. as our beloved Tamala makes her journey home to be with the Lord.
“Aunt Earleen”, the name she gave me the privilege of calling her, was truly like an Aunt to me -whuch means a lot when you are a Pastor’s kid that has spent most of their life moving and does not get to see relatives frequently. She adopted me as her “niece” and treated me like an Aunt would. I feel so thankful she was a part of my life during my high school years and even when we moved from Omaha, I was still able to have enjoyable phone conversations with her from time to time as an adult.. I still have the “usher” pin I used to wear when she was Head Usher of Omaha Sharon SDA church. So sad she has passed on, but grateful for the good memories and feelings I have of her. May God bless, comfort, and strengthen you! Much love to you all!
To my Big Sister Edith and Family,
The services was beautiful!!! I am sending prayers to you and the family!!! I wish I could have been there with you guys. I am praying for Gods peace and comfort to you. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Rafell, Joyce, Rashida, Dalon, and Ace will be praying for you today, tomorrow, next week as the holidays start, every month, and the years to come!!!
Every time you was on the phone with Edith you would tell her to tell me, tell my daughter I said hi!! I’m going to miss you mom!!! Love you guys!!!
Edith and family. What a beautiful celebration of life for Mrs. Philmon. I remember growing up, she was one of the sweetest mothers I knew. Cherish her memory always and know that she loved each and everyone of you and her extended family. May she take her well deserved rest while reuniting with the love of her life.
Only God knows his plan for each of us. The most difficult thing for most of us is accepting the loss of a Lovedone(s). I encourage each of you to never question God. Accept God’s will with everything. Cherish those memories and know that your Lovedone is RWW (RESTING WITHOUT WORRIES) While my Aunt is resting , Her memories will never fade away❤️
Momma aka “Bird” aka “Tamela”,
This a a difficult time for me! However, I am filled with joy because I know without a doubt where you are! I can still hear you telling me, “no cross, no crown” I can see what you meant now. As I look and read the tributes to you on this site and listened to the wonderful stories told at your Home-going service, I feel honored and blessed that you are my mom! You truly lived your Eulogy!! There was nothing said about you that was not true… If we would have had all day, that still would not have been enough time to honor you. People came out to support us because you lived, not because you died.
Part 2 – I am happy and sad at the same time. As I’ve always done when writing you letters or sending cards; I again want to say thank you for your unconditional love you had for us. You now have your wings (keep flying and guiding us), and enjoy your crown and that beautiful heavenly mansion.
Part 3 – Please know you are loved beyond measure. Can you tell daddy I “LeAnna” (our family name for me) said hi and I miss you both so so very much. The lessons you both taught us will never be forgotten and I will always remember while growing up, you and daddy would always say “charity starts at home”…we will continue to take care of each other. I already know you had an amazing Thanksgiving! Now, Merry Christmas and I know it’s nothing like spending Christmas in Paradise! Take your well deserved rest and I am going to keep living a life that is pleasing to the Lord so that I can see you and daddy again and the rest of our loved ones who are no longer with us. I will always love you!!
Edith Faye Philmon “LeAnna” – Edithfaye ~ oops, one other thing, I still have three messages you left on my answering machine at home and I’ve been listening to them. Love and Hugs Momma, I love you!! E
