Edith Marie Circo

CIRCO, Edith Marie, Feb 20, 1916 – Apr 6, 2012. Born of pioneer-stock in 1916 through the C.1826 Tamisiea and Murray family lineages, “Marie” embraced a zest for life through her thirst for experiences and creativity. She continued to test these boundaries at the Grande Olde Players Club, professional clown performances, firing her kiln glassworks, sculpturing, painting, writings of poetry and prose, as an avid reader, plus her excursions to more than 28 countries. At 83, she white-water rafted in Montana, and, at 96 years young, she used a laptop to research, write and pay bills. The loss of both legs in 2008 did not stop a 2011 holiday to visit her daughter living in New York City, where Marie enjoyed non-stop activities of theatre, museums, restaurants, and a celebrity party. She was grateful to God and gave unconditional love to her friends and family. Her big bright laughing blue eyes attested that her glass was forever half full. She was preceded in death by husbands, Sam Palermo and Joseph Circo. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Palermo and Rosemary O’Connor. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, April 21, at 10am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Association.
