Retired Captain, Omaha Fire Department. Preceded in death by beloved wife, 
Virginia. Survived by sons, Edward Jr. (Tara Muir) and Deacon Terry Ficenec (Karen); daughter, Cheryl Selvig (Doug); six grandchildren four great grandchildren; sisters, Clara Janousek and Barbara Wzorek; brother, Ray Ficenec; friend, Becky Ficenec.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookstone Village and Lakeside Hospital for the superior care they gave our father.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 5th from 4pm to 6pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17th & Center, with VIGIL SERVICE at 6pm at the church. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, May 6th at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Ed. I am in the Czech Republic and unable to be there. Uncle Ed was a sweet man and will be missed. I.will drink a toast to his memory with a Czech beer.
