I worked for Ed’s father and uncle in the mid 1960’s. Ed was driving the Omaha Fire Chief around but when we were busy at Farnam Street or South Omaha Ed was right there to help. I liked Ed and Carol very much. Ed was very much like his father: always a gentleman, quiet, with a very quick wit. It was a honor to know Ed and work with him. Todd Van Beck

I have thought about Ed over the past 5 years and have finally come to learn of his passing. I worked at Backwoods for 8 years and always helped Ed when he came in He’d ask for me if i wasn’t on the sales floor. He was one of my favorites. I enjoyed listening about his trips to Ireland and helping him pick out a new winter sweatshirt. He was always looking for a basic sweatshirt with a single chest pocket but we never found one. This never stopped him from making a purchase. Thank you Ed for the years of letting me assist you and for your kindness. Your friend, Laura
