Edward “Dan” Reeder

Edward “Dan” Reeder

July 27, 1927 – July 20, 2019

We learned many valuable lessons from Dan Reeder during his 92 years, among them: being on time means showing up early; volunteering to serve your country in the United States Navy at age 18; putting clients before yourself and brokering win-win real estate deals between Seller and Buyer your whole career; providing unbridled love and devotion to your spouse for 70 years; mentor your children, their friends, your grandchildren, the neighborhood youth almost entirely by your actions; avoiding gossip and finding something positive to say about everybody (it is always important to say something heartfelt).

Faithful servant of Our Lord, husband, father, grandfather “Papa”, brother, and friend – you leave a life testimony and freely gave of a grand love we stand in deepest reverence of aspiring to live up to.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Rosemary Reeder; his sisters: Lorraine, Bette, and Sally. Surviving family members include his forever love/wife of 70 years, Virginia; his sons, Dan Reeder (Janelle) of Omaha; Steve Reeder (Brenda) of Arnolds Park, Iowa; daughter, Mari Reeder Rensch (Jeff) of Omaha; ten grandchildren: Tyson, Ali, Conner, Kyle, Emily Rose, Gage, Quinn, Anna, Miranda and Micah; three brothers: Ted, Lance and Bernie; two sisters, Maryanne and Susanne; numerous nieces and nephews.

VIGIL SERVICE: Thursday, August 1, 2019, Mary Our Queen Catholic  Church, 3405 S. 118th St.  with VISITATION from 5pm to 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, August 2nd at 10:00 am, Mary Our Queen Church.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery with military honors by US Navy Honor Guard and Benson VFW Post 2503.  Memorials are suggested to Creighton Prep, Marian High School, Boys Town, or Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Reeder family. Always enjoyed talking with Dan when we crossed paths at the Phi Psi house or other functions. Always had a smile and took the time to see how things were going with me and my family. He will not be forgotten and always cherish his memory.

Uncle Dan will forever be in our hearts. His quick wit, ready smile and loving kindness to everyone is my enduring memory of Dan. Heaven is a happier place now with Uncle Dan probably chatting with Jesus about baseball and the good ol days In Omaha. He showed us in the family the example of enduring family love. You will be missed Uncle Dan but your bright personality never forgotten. My deepest condolences to all my aunts and uncles and cousins who share this loss
    With love, Kathy

I always looked forward to being around Dan; he helped so many people in many different ways, by just being Dan. His smile was contagious; his positive attitude was uplifting. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Reeder family.

Our condolences to the Reeder family. I officed next to Steve at CBRE/Mega, and often got to see Mr Reeder coming to visit Steve. He would stop in, say hello and chat for a minute. A genuinely pleasant and caring man who always found time for everyone. I am truly sorry to learn of his passing. May he rest in eternal peace.

Please accept our condolences on the loss of Dan. He was “one of the good guys” who had the respect of many in the real estate industry because of his good nature. We will keep all of the Reeder family in our hearts and prayers. God Bless.
