Edward “Sonny” Joseph Nimerichter
December 21, 1935 – August 10, 2025
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nimerichter; mother, Marie (Cisar); and brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Elsasser); sons, Steven and Terry; grandson, Nicholas; sister, Jean “Doll” Gruidel; brother-in-law, Wayne Elsasser (Kathiey); and many nieces and nephews.
Edward was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Edward and Marie. He was married to Donna for 66 years and worked for the Omaha Public Power District for 42 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler, volunteered to support Omaha Youth Hockey, was a member of the Carter Lake Ski Club, attended Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, and was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 763. He was a season ticket holder for Nebraska football since 1966, the Men’s College World Series since 1992, and Nebraska-Omaha hockey since their inaugural season in 1997.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday August 16, 2025 12:00PM with VISITATION beginning at 10:00AM at West Center Chapel.
INTERMENT: Hillcrest Cemetery

I will always remember our trips to the Husker football games in Ed;s travel camper. It was always fun and Ed was a great host, he was a good man. So sorry for your loss.
