EGGERS, Mary Kaye

Mary Kaye Eggers Aug 23, 1949 – Jun 14, 2016 Our hero, friend, sister, Wife, Mom, and Grandma, Mary Kaye, received her Express Pass to Heaven on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. God called her Home so early as a reward for the Great life that she had lived. She lived each second of her 66 years to the fullest. As one of her friends said, MK never let any grass grow under her feet! Watch out Heaven! Mary Kaye lived her life with a passion, courage, loving devotion, and selfless sacrifice that gave wonderful example to all those around her of how to excel, how to live a great life. She was beyond awesome, making all those whom she touched happier and better people. Mary Kaye touched the lives of many, many people, whether passing acquaintances or students whom she taught for many years. She made a difference in our world! She also waged her valiant and courageous battle against cancer with this same zeal. We feel honored to have had someone so incredible in our lives whom we can all cherish, love, and emulate. And, while we all are heart-broken with her passing too soon, we celebrate her life and how much better we are for being a part of her life. Mary Kaye has truly made a difference in this world and we are all so happy to have been there to experience it. Mary Kaye’s legacy of love and devotion is too long to list but includes her husband of 46 years, Ron; her adoring children, Dan (Paula) and John (Suzanne); her wonderful, darling grandchildren: Nicholas, Elise and Addie; her brothers, Tom and Jerry (Judy) Loomer; her sister, Sr. Cele Loomer; the thousands of students she educated and nurtured; her countless friends; her tenure as Parish Council President at two different parishes; and her final philanthropic efforts with the Salvation Army. As a tribute to our Party Girl, we are having a wonderful party at Louie’s Wine Dive (168th & Center) after the funeral services. Memorials are suggested to Elkhorn Foundation (for the benefit of programs that Mary Kaye taught at Elkhorn High School), 20214 Veterans Drive, Suite 400, Elkhorn, NE 68022; or Salvation Army, 10755 Burt St, Omaha, NE 68114. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> VIGIL SERVICE Tuesday, June 21st at 7pm at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7790 S. 192nd St. in Gretna, with family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at the church.
