Sad to see Elden leave us. He was a good friend and a good man. He laughed at all of my jokes -even the few funny ones. May he catch his limit every day.

My favorite memory of Elden is on the farm. He was always outside in front of the grill playing polka on the radio. His mannerisms and laugh were infectious and one of a kind. He’ll be missed.

  • Jenna Cotton Posted April 3, 2020 2:11 pm

The Cotton Family is sending big hugs to you all from our corner of Tennessee.

We may only have known Mr. Elden through stories Courtney has shared with us… But, what we completely understand is how much he loved his family, how much he meant to those who knew him, and that his will of iron was stuff of legend!

There will be a light on the “M Bridge” crosses from the west into the City of Memphis, which leads directly to the campus of St. Jude’s Research Hospital, burning tonight (and every night) in honor of his memory and legacy.

May God carry you all through this time of loss. Our hearts and are prayers are with you.

    Sincerely,
    Jenna Cotton

I am so sorry for your loss! Elden was a rare human being in the fact that he never met a stranger and was the best at making people laugh! His sense of humor was second to none! The Millard Days Horseshoe Tournaments will not be the same without him, he is already dearly missed. Thoughts and prayers to all of his family as you navigate through the grief process and how it looks in our current world. We are all better for having known Elden and I am so sorry for your loss! We will miss him at Team meetings, the phone calls just to check in and the firm handshake that never weakened.
