Eleanor (Higgins) Miller

Eleanor was born to John and Elizabeth Higgins on November 28, 1927 in Omaha. She grew up near Hanscom Park and attended Our Lady of Lourdes and graduated from Mercy High. During her later years she enjoyed being driven through her old neighborhood where she grew up and seeing her childhood home.

Eleanor loved gardening. While tending to her flowers and plants she enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and 40’s jazz music. Above all she delighted in entertaining family and friends around her pool and patio. Hence her nickname- Swimming Pool Grandma!

Eleanor was always there for her two children Bill and Mike, offering unwavering support and love. She connected with and had profound positive effects on many nieces and nephews who were part of her life. She had a special place in her heart for her niece Cindy (Marty) Evans and nephew Nick (Kristi) Mackie.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Dr. Bill (Lori) Miller and Mike (Cindy) Miller; five grandchildren: Tim (Allie )Miller, Liz (Aaron) Mitchell, Dr. Chris Miller, Ella Miller and Grant Miller; one great-grandchild, Olivia Miller; brother, Dan(Mary)Higgins.

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Higgins; her sisters: Betty, Jeri, Marian, Dorothy, and Margie; brothers, Jack and Mike.
