Elly was born and raised in the Chicago area.  She graduated from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and went to work in Chicago in the labs at the University of Illinois Dental School.

Elly married Bob Wolatz on February 17, 1951, in Oak Park, Illinois and lived in Chicago until 1954 when they relocated to North Platte, NE as part of Bob’s career.  They subsequently moved to Lincoln NE in 1960, and, in 1966, to Omaha, where she and Bob remained for the rest of their lives.  Elly re-entered the work force while living in Omaha, ultimately working for more than 25 years in various administrative support positions in the Millard Public Schools.

In retirement, Elly and Bob took advantage of the time to travel to many places, including a wonderful trip to Wales where she got to meet many of her relatives.  In Omaha, Elly stayed very active with church, golfing, bridge groups, and various women’s clubs.  Through these activities she had many dear friends.

Elly was a devoted wife and loving mother, Nain (grandmother), and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.
