Elmadore “Elmie” (Ellen) Castater
June 7, 1924 – January 2, 2019
Elmadore “Elmie” (Ellen) Castater passed into her Lord’s and husband’s loving arms January 2, 2019. Her arrival home was celebrated by her parents, Loraine and Peter Ellen, husband Robert and sister Evelyn (Lloyd) Mevis, all from Janesville, Wisconsin who preceded her.
She lived a life blessed with lots of travel, winters in Siesta Key looking for the perfect shells, wonderful friends and a family devoted to her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Terri Burnell, Lincoln, Nebraska; son, Pete and his wife Jackie, Omaha, Nebraska; Matt Burnell and Erin Wiederkher, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and granddaughter, Max Ann Castater of Omaha, Nebraska.
A long time member of Countryside Community Church, Elmie loved decorating, gardening, Lauritzen Gardens, The Henry Doorly Zoo, where she volunteered many years, going out with “the girls” and always a great game of bridge.
Service: Wednesday January 9, 2019, 1:00 pm. at Countryside Community Church.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Henry Doorly Zoo in her honor.
