Erin R. Aten

Erin R. Aten

July 8, 1988 – March 5, 2024

Erin was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 8, 1988. Erin participated in Girl Scouts and enjoyed family games and loved trips to Pizza Inn. Erin loved playing sports such as softball, bowling and swimming. Erin especially loved showing off her dance moves, playing music loud and spending time with family and friends.

Erin graduated from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 2006. Erin enjoyed crafting; ask Chad about glitter. Erin also really enjoyed taking pictures and was really good at it; a second job that she loved!

Erin met her “meat man” Chad Aten and the two fell in love. Erin and Chad got married in 2011; they have made an incredible example of true love.

Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. She fought like hell and was able to ring that bell! In 2022, her breast cancer came back metastasized. She fought like hell again! Erin was the strongest, most courageous woman who ever existed. She was the brightest light with a million-dollar smile.

Erin left for heaven on March 5, 2024, with loved ones by her side.

She was an amazing woman and I feel so proud to have known her for the short time she was in my life. She was always smiling and making every one around smile too. God has a very bright star shining in the heaven now. Prayers to the Aten family .

Words cannot express the amount of sympathy I feel for you Chad, and your family. I met Erin in 2018 at UNMC at a breast cancer convention, I had just recently been diagnosed as well . That night my husband and I sat with Erin and Chad, and they gave us so much hope, and strength to fight through. My heart breaks, Erin was truly an inspiration and I will always be grateful for how “real” she was with me that evening. We kept in touch via social media over the year, I have followed her journey, she never quit smiling. May god wrap his arms around all you during this trying time.
