Coach McCabe or Bob was a gem! He made it fun at CSM , being a single guy coaching girls at an all girls college his face turned red many a time!! He remained friends of our family for many years. He truly cared about his family and friends.

My sympathy to Bob’s family! Coach McCabe was a great guy, pretty brave to coach women’s basketball at CSM! We made his irish face turn red a few times indeed! His commitment to caring for your mom and also about many of his players was enviable. I’ll miss his stories.
    Eternal Rest Bob!

It is very sad to lose so cherished a friend, my classmate and basketball teammate at St. Margaret Mary’s since sixth grade, almost as small as I then, but way ahead of me and almost all our teammates in speed and athleticism, a future starter, one of the steadiest, at Creighton Prep. My rare returns to Omaha almost always included visits with Bob and sometimes with his parents and his sisters, all lifelong friends. At our last visit, in August, 2017, he was still regaling me with his gift for superb story telling. My heartfelt sympathy to Pat and to Kay and to every loving family member and every person blessed by Bob’s friendship.

May the Peace of the Lord be with us all.
