Evelyn M. Hosch
July 16, 1947 – June 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Hosch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Evelyn was a woman who touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Evelyn Marie Yount was born on July 16, 1947, in Fort Collins, Colorado, and passed away peacefully at home in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 27, 2025. She was a devoted wife to Steve Hosch and a loving mother to her daughter Raquel “Kellie” Hosch and her son Chad Hosch and his wife, Brianna (Henderson) Hosch. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Megan Hosch, Kaipo Reef Hosch, Brody Hosch, Kalia Hosch, and Justice Hosch, and her family was everything to her.
Evelyn is also survived by her sisters Elaine Evans and Marilyn LeGrande and her husband Rick LeGrande, and her brothers Larry Yount and his wife Peggy, Ken Yount and his wife Jodi, and Kevin Yount and his wife Lori, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who held her close.
Known for her kindness, friendliness, and compassion, Evelyn was also an amazing cook, baker, and coffee maker. When she wasn’t in the kitchen she loved painting, wallpapering and decorating every room in her house. You wouldn’t find a white wall in Ev’s home. She also enjoyed entertaining friends and family! She was well known for her annual Christmas parties, neighborhood get-togethers, cookie exchanges and setting up her coffee bar for the parents on Halloween night as well as on Nebraska Husker game days! She was a diehard football fan and specifically a Nebraska Cornhusker fan and watched them play every week!
She had a unique ability to make anyone feel at home with her warm hospitality. Her wit and sense of humor were legendary, and she could always make those around her laugh, even in the toughest of times.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father Glen Dale Yount and her mother Edna Marie (Boehne) Yount. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness, touching the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

Steve, I was sorry to read of the loss of your wife.
Dear Hosch family,
I have many memories of Ev and your family so I will stick with one that stands out and makes me smile…Warm summer days spent at Ned and Barb’s on Lake Tapps, us sitting on the dock eating our picnic lunch and Ev saying, “ one day there are going to be plum and apricot trees growing up out of this lake.” As we would spit the pits out into the water.
My what a true treasure she was. She was such a patient and kind person. Fun to be around and wonderfully hospitable.
I am so thankful that I had a chance to know her fondly in this life and that one day we get to see her again. Heaven certainly gained someone special when Jesus took her home but it is so hard for those left behind. I am so sorry for your loss. May God bring you comfort during this very difficult time of missing your sweet and wonderful Evelyn.
